Today, I begin thinking positively. I have spent a majority of my life hating myself, being ashamed of how I look, and speaking hateful words toward my own body. I recognize that I am not perfect, yet it is imperative that I begin to see myself in a better light Continue Reading
(I just came up with the title for this post and I’m pretty proud of it. ) I was so excited for our third anniversary that I planned a little weekend trip to Savannah, Georgia: one of John’s favorite places and somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit! We ate AMAZING Continue Reading
Yesterday, John and I made a trip to Montgomery for a few hours. I haven’t been able to show him around the area where I’m now working so I planned a special date for us! First, we headed to Winton Blount Cultural Park (where the Walk I’m planning for NAMI Alabama will be held in September) to look around. We were excited to try out our new Sony A6000 camera with the kit lens and a Sony e-mount 55-210mm lens (which we used for most of the pictures). We walked around some and took photos before making an unexpected pit-stop at work to help with something. We then drove through downtown and walked down to Riverwalk and around the city a little. Of course, we ended the day with an ice cream cone and a stop at Best Buy (John’s request).
This is our favorite in terms of detail. We love mallards!
We had a great time messing with the new camera and looking at the beautiful birds and views at Blount Park. Enjoy these photos we took (amateur, but we still like them) and let us know what you like to do in Montgomery, AL! Hint: click on the photos to look through each individually.
Tips for those tense conversations and situations you wish you could run away from.

For the days when you know you should be happy but you aren’t.
It’s Thanksgiving week already! Can you believe it? This fall has gone by so fast, and in many ways I am glad! I’m just 16 days away from graduation and it feels bittersweet. But I am so thankful and ready for some time off. I’m ready for some delicious food Continue Reading
I sat in the car after arriving 20 minutes early (whoops), breathing slowly and thinking. I fought every bone in my body that naturally told me to worry. My mind started to wander but I focused instead and prayed. I straightened my dress and inspected my makeup in the mirror, Continue Reading
You may have heard the term “Glorification of Busy”. There are dozens of articles written about this idea, of being “too busy” to make time for God. Being too busy to focus on friendships and opportunities for sharing Christ. That’s not my focus today, but I think about it often. Continue Reading
