A few months ago, I quit my dream job. Turns out, not every dream is a good one. I was so honored to be offered a job in my field weeks before I graduated. I felt secure in my plans and I easily ignored the pit in my stomach because… this had to be perfect, right? Not too long later, after crying on nearly every 45-minute drive home, I realized that this “dream” job was not where I was meant to be (there’s much more to this story). I took a giant leap of faith when I quit. I searched for jobs for longer than I’d like to admit, and I prayed that God would show me where to go. I was getting married soon, and I was feeling pretty terrified and hopeless as more time passed. As usual, though, God proved Himself to be perfect and good. This month I was given the opportunity to work for The Mint Julep Boutique in a position I had never expected to work in, but I’m already seeing how this will be a great chance to learn about humility, patience, and empathy. Waiting periods in life always have a purpose and we should try to find the blessing in every setback.  So, thank you God for this blessing and thank you for always providing.
