You pretty much won’t ever stop hearing about my wedding day… sorry about that! I had the BEST time planning for August 5, 2017, and today I wanted to share some of my DIY projects that I worked on for our big day! I made five main signs for the wedding which you will see below. I tried to keep fonts the same between these signs and I kept with the gold frames and white lettering on them as much as possible so things would feel cohesive between the rooms of our reception venue.

Here’s what you’ll need:

The first, and biggest, sign that people saw when they entered the church for our ceremony was this sign which reads “Welcome to the Wedding of Haley and John August 5, 2017”. I bought this large frame at Hobby Lobby, removed the back, and glued the glass into place. I then designed the layout and traced the words onto the glass using a paint pen (because I wanted it to be p e r f e c t). I was so thrilled with how this came out that we moved it from the church over to the reception building so we could share it with as many people as possible (and, you know, to make sure people knew where they were going)!

I knew I wanted to have a little spot at our reception that would be used as a photo booth. I made this little sign as a cute way to display our photo props!

This is another one of my favorite parts of the wedding decorations! I got the idea for this sign from Pinterest and picked the fonts and style that I wanted for it on my own. The size of this frame was perfect for a table piece at our wedding, but it also doubles as home decor for us now! (Maybe John will remember our dating anniversary, after all!)

Don’t pay too much attention to the fact that our sparkler send-off time was never decided on… whoops! This was another Pinterest project and, despite it not being finished, I think it was a cute sign to have next to our sparklers by the door of the venue! Also, how fantastic was our florist? She went above and beyond and surprised me with extra flowers I didn’t know she was going to provide! I loved the little touches like these roses on the littlest table.

This project was not entirely my own (actually, I did very little of it) but it will easily be the most useful for years to come! Months before the wedding, I asked my father-in-law and brother-in-law  if they could make a card box which we would use at the reception and also as a decoration for our future home… and they killed it! They made this beautiful box for us, and then I stained it and painted on it with acrylic paint. We now keep this on some built-in shelves in our home and keep wedding mementos and cards inside it.
