Last night/early this morning 50 people were murdered, and 53 others were injured in a nightclub in Orlando, FL. 50 people had their futures stolen from them because of a hateful man who felt it was his right to kill because he disagreed with their lifestyles.
Today is not a day to express your disagreements with the LGBT community. Today is not a day to pretend this kind of hatred doesn’t exist. Today is not a day to push your political agenda.
Today is a day to grieve with those who have lost their family and friends. Today is a day to hug your loved ones tight. It is a day to pray and plead with the Lord for comfort and peace. It is a day to remember those victims. It is a day to love.
Last night 50 people who were made and loved by God were killed. He loved them like he loves you. They were His beloved creations, and likely some of them never got to know and love Him back. They were robbed of the chance to proclaim His name. If I have learned anything in the last year, I learned that Christ feels with us. He knows what their families are feeling and he hurts with them. He wants to comfort and give His peace that surpasses understanding. This tragedy is horrible and painful, but HE is still here. Our lack of understanding does not change the truth of who God is.
Join me in praying for the people of Orlando and the families of those who are no longer with us. Pray for God’s comfort and peace to be with them. Pray for the state of our nation and for guidance in the coming days.
