This week I’ve spent a lot of time working on a special project… boxes to “propose” to my bridesmaids! I am SO excited to have them stand by me and help me out as I prepare to marry my best friend. This blog will show some process pictures and photos from asking my ladies. The boxes were pretty simple and definitely made on a budget, but maybe someone will get some ideas from me 🙂

To start off, I knew I wanted to make a little box with some cute things inside and a card to ask my friends to be bridesmaids. There are SO many cute ideas online! I didn’t have much money to work with, so I wasn’t able to buy Essie nail polish, or fancy water bottles/mugs/shirts. I’ll show you the items I made and bought to make these cute boxes for my girls! I spent a lot of time trying to find the right boxes, and right before I left Hobby Lobby with nothing, I happened to walk past the clearance section and spotted these oval boxes on clearance for $1.50 to $2.00 each on sale! Unfortunately, they didn’t have more than 3 in any size, so I had to buy 3 of two different sizes. I then chose some paint at Walmart for the boxes. I wanted them to look cute and girly!

I painted the bottoms pink and the tops white, then wrote my girls’ names on the tops in gold.

I spent a lot of time deciding what to put inside the boxes and decided on chocolate (because who doesn’t love chocolate), a necklace I made for them, some “wedding” bells, a customized notebook, and some lipgloss!

On top of these little gifts, I placed a watercolored card asking them to be my bridesmaids and a photo of us together.

For my special bridesmaid who will be my sister in law, I made a different card!

Here is how it looks to open the box:

The next part was the best part: asking my sweet friends to be my bridesmaids! First was Allie, my roommate and one of my first friends from Auburn. She is full of life, fun, smart, Godly, and a cherished friend.

Next, I convinced Olivia to get coffee with me before class! Olivia is hilarious, caring, encouraging, and gentle. She is one of my more recent friends but we connected so well so fast, and I couldn’t imagine planning without her amazing Pinterest wedding boards 😉 (Olivia also said yes!)

I was able to surprise Courtney on the concourse while she was doing recruitment stuff with her sisters. Courtney was in my Insight group her freshman and my sophomore year and she became a very important friend to me. She is strong, determined, wise, and beautiful. I can’t wait for her to stand by me on the big day!

I had to wait a little while before I could see the next few ladies. That was tough for me, I was so excited! Later on I got to ask my closest friend who I’ve known since I was a freshman in high school. Nicole is empathetic, encouraging, and fun, and she probably knows me better than anyone. She said yes!

Next came Allie, my future sister in law! Allie is the coolest 15 year old I know and I’m so thankful to know her. She is smart, lively, sweet, and talented! I can’t wait for a lifetime of fun with this special lady.

My final bridesmaid is the lovely Allison. I met Allison freshman year and she became one of my favorite people. Allison is beautiful in so many ways. She’s extremely wise, steady, encouraging and caring. I am so thrilled she will stand by me on the big day!

That concludes this blog post. I hope you enjoyed meeting my beautiful ladies and maybe you got some ideas for a future bridesmaid proposal 🙂
