I’m so excited to share a new blog series called Wedding Wednesday that will be sharing parts of our wedding day! I’m putting this out there both as a way to inspire sweet wedding moments and also just for us to remember this beautiful day for years to come. Week 1 of this series is focused on getting ready for our wedding. Read and look through this post while imagining loads of happy tears, Bruno Mars singing “I think I wanna marry you”, and all the nervous jitters of two people SO ready to be joined forever.

My bridesmaids and I got ready at the “rock house” on John’s grandparent’s property. It was the perfect size for the whole party to sleep, get ready, and celebrate the night before. I was tickled by the china on the walls and the perfectly decorated rooms. I’m so thankful they allowed us to get ready and stay in the rock house!

I am honestly not sure who drew this to this day, but it made me smile so big on August 5, 2017.

My amazing cousin Kayla (find her here) did my hair and makeup and I was thrilled how it turned out.

They drove all the way from south Florida for the wedding and I was so thankful to have them there.

I bought my girls these robes and earrings as small gifts for being in our wedding party.

I found them on Amazon and the navy floral robes were a huge hit!

One of my favorite photos from the morning of our wedding day.

When everyone was finished getting ready, we had mimosas and exchanged letters. My amazing maid of honor, Nicole, put together a binder of notes from all of the girls, my family, John’s family, and John. I couldn’t stop crying. I also wrote notes for my girls and I’m pretty sure each one cried. Love them. 🙂

We got a few photos together as a group in our robes. Our photographer, Kelsey Dawn Photography, was incredible all day. She was so flexible, kind, and helpful.

Putting on the final touches: my beautiful earrings I bought on Etsy.

I love them all so much. My mom joined us to help me get into my dress and get some final photos taken. After getting into my dress and attaching my veil, we had to get some photos of me walking out in my dress. This is my favorite.

My groom and his groomsmen got ready at John’s parent’s home. I love these photos of them getting ready. They were having so much fun and they looked so nice in their suits (that I picked out)!

Both of our brothers could basically be models.

My groom. I love you, my sweet John. You were the calmest, most collected, and most handsome groom I’ve ever seen.

One of the sweetest parts of the day was opening the letters we had written to each other and exchanging gifts.

I’m so thankful for the beautiful morning before our wedding. Everything was perfect, sweet, and simple. I can’t wait to share more stories and photos soon!
